As we approach the end of 2023, please take a look at your accrued vacation hours. What do you have as of today? What will you accrue by year end? Employees need to factor in 4 more pay periods of accruals (11/4/2023, 11/18/2023, 12/2/2023 & 12/16/2023). The vacation procedure states full time employees may carryover 80 hours and part time employees is 40 hours. This is effective 1/1/2024. No exceptions.
To help calculate, here’s an example:
- Employee A has a vacation balance of 85 hours for PPE 10/21/2023
- Accrues 6.15 vacation hours per pay period (enter own accrual here)
- 15 * 4 pay periods = 24.6 hours
- Total vacation hours = 109.60 hours
- Deducting the max carryover of 80 hours and you need to use 29.6 by 12/30/2023
