Join our team as an Advancement & Grants Specialist
Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Advancement & Grants Specialist provides oversight to the grant/RFP process, researching new grant opportunities and supporting advancement activities.
What are the primary responsibilities of this Advancement & Grants Specialist position?
- Coordinate and monitor the grant application, follow-up reporting and RFP activities for the agency. For ongoing grant opportunities: develop an annual grants tracker plan/calendar, gather background information, prepare written applications and monitor progress.
- Research and identify new grant opportunities from private, state or federal sources to support programming, expand programming and create growth for new programming.
- Support preparation of annual funding plans, track progress/adjust course of research accordingly. Prepare development department’s update for quarterly board meetings.
- Back up for data base management.
- Support Events.
- Other projects as they develop.
Education and Experience:
- Preferred- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, education, social work, public relations or a similar field with 3 years experience in non-profit grant writing
- Required- Associate’s degree in business, communications, education, social work, public relations or a similar field with 3 years’ experience in grant writing
