Improving Network Securityđź”’

As we continue to face occurrences of unsolicited emails, network intrusion attempts, etc. we will be taking a couple steps to help assure our systems are as secure as possible.

The first is that will require two-factor authentication to sign into your FCC email (network account). As of Monday, February 26 at 8 a.m., two-factor authentication will be enabled on our network, so you will be required to have set this up. If you do not, you will be required to do so before you can get into your computer.

To enable two-factor authentication (2FA):

  1. Login to work email account via Gmail
  2. Click on your account photo at the top right hand corner
  3. Select “Manage your Google Account”
  4. Select “ Security”
  5. Scroll down to the “How you sign in to Google” section
  6. Select “2-Step Verification”
  7. Verify it is you by entering your password
  8. Select your preferred method of verification
    • Google Prompts
    • Text/Call
    • Authenticator App

The second step is to require that you have completed Cybersecurity training on Paycom Learning.  This cybersecurity training will take you less than 30 minutes, but will assure that everyone on our network is aware of the potential dangers to which you may be exposed  This training must also be completed by Monday, February 26 at 8 a.m. By the way, the training will also be assigned to all new hires as a means to make sure everyone on the network is as prepared as possible.

To access this training:

  1. Navigate to the Depot
  2. Select “Paycom” from the navigation menu
  3. Login to your account
  4. Hover over the “Learning” tab and select “My Learning”
  5. Under Assigned Learning select “Cybersecurity”
  6. Click on the “Start” button
  7. Once the course has been completed, an email will be sent to the HR Specialist.

The official procedure will be sent out for review & acknowledgement on February 15th. It will also be available on the Depot under Resources > Policies & Procedures > Information Technology > 005: Cybersecurity & Two-Factor Authentication.

If you have any questions or need assistance with either of the steps listed above, please reach out to a member of HR.Â
