COVID-19 Update Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Effective Thursday, March 19, our public locations of Viroqua, FSB in Winona and GVC in La Crosse will be locking their front doors to limit public access. We will still be open for business, we will still receive clients, but ideally in a much more limited fashion. Signs will be placed on the doors to ask visitors to call their host when they arrive at the building. This is one of our latest steps to help mitigate the spread of the virus.

There have been questions about working from home, so please note that some positions are more suited for this, and others are not. We expect to be making more of use it in these times but positions such as Case Managers may utilize their home location in lieu of FCC for part of their day, but when working with a client you typically have to be there.  If you are not clear on how this may or may not be an option for you please contact your Supervisor or Director. We will continue to follow the existing procedure (HR 232), including a weekly request and completing the form attached to the procedure.

Regarding pay for those working reduced hours, please note that the requirement to use accrued vacation and sick time before being unpaid is only an option in cases where an employee makes the choice to not work. For those who did not choose to be absent from work or decrease their hours, they can choose to use their preference for payment. That choice can be submitted in an email to your supervisor or on your time sheet. Also, the usual requirements for a doctor’s note or leave approval will not be required at this time for use of accrued sick time.

Thanks in advance for your help!
